Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If you experience difficulty while creating the softpaq, Please perform the following steps: a. Restart the system b. Press F8 right after the COMPAQ start up logo c. Select Safe Mode Option d. System will continue load windows in Safe Mode e. Execute the downloaded softpaq to create a bootable BIOS update diskette. 3. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2. 4. Turn off the computer. 5. Place the newly created Compaq Presario 900xx/EvoN1050v ROMPaq Diskette in Drive A: and turn on the computer. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
