DESCRIPTION:

This Softpaq creates the OS/2 Support Software Diskettes
for Compaq (SSD).

SSD contains OS/2 drivers for Storage, Health, System Management
and Remote Management. This software enhances the performance of 
Compaq options such as Compaq Drive Array controllers, Compaq 
SCSI controllers, and Compaq CD-ROM drives.
This software requires 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.
 
Enhancements/Fixes in Version 4.56 Rev. A

The following Compaq Drivers were updated:

Compaq System Management Driver - CPQSMGT.SYS v2.26
   - Fixed an error; where the system gives a trap if a fan is inserted 
	into a slot that is empty at boot time.
   - Supported on G1 and earlier servers only.

Compaq SCSI driver - CPQ53CX.ADD v2.83
   - Fixed an Internal Processing error.

at the OS/2 prompt.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and 
   change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self 
   extracting executable with a file name SP21983.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the Softpaq
   file:
      SP21983 [ENTER]

   The following files should be created:

   217380US._01
   217380US._02
   QRST5.EXE
   SP21983.TXT
   
3. Obtain 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the diskettes, run QRST5 and follow the
   on-screen instructions.

5. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the
   downloaded file SP21983.EXE and the other files created
   on your hard drive if you wish.

6. Type VIEWME at the command prompt on the First Diskette
   for additional information.
