This release addresses a memory leak issue with cpmagent. Softpaq SP21837 can be used to patch an existing system. SP21837 can be obtained from ftp.compaq.com. It is recommended that the patch in SP21837 be used regardless of your configuration Enhancements/Fixes: This release is to fix a memory leak in cpmagent. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq file onto a DOS / Windows PC. Change to the directory in which the file was placed. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file. Change to the directory that contains the expanded files and launch Setup.exe. This will create a file called cpmagent. Transfer cpmagent to the target Unix Server. 3. Stop the cpmagent process on the target Unix server using the following procedure: Login as root. From a console prompt: #ps - ef | grep cpmagent This will give us the process id for cpmagent, represented here as x #kill –9 x That kills the process. copy the original cpmagent file to /usr/cpm/cpmagent.original copy the new cpmagent file to the target Unix server.This file should be placed in the subdirectory /usr/cpm.
