ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: Upgraded / Changed CPU.tm to the manufacturing cpu.tm. A version of this tm has been in use in our factories for 4 years. The new cpu.tm has much better multiprocessor testing capabilities. Note: It was designed for Pentium or better processors and so this version represents a firm cut off date for legacy severs. Upgraded / Changed Memory test module to the manufacturing memory test module. This brings concurrent multi-processor testing to the field. This new tm has been in use in our factories for 4 years and can test memory significantly faster than the old memory test module. The text front end is now in use. The main reason is that the graphical front-end blocked the writes to the screen that the new memory and CPU test modules used. This also provided memory savings on the disk of 50k and in memory of 10k. Qualified support for the ProLiant ML350-G2 with Tualatin 1.4 GHz processors. Qualified support for the ProLiant ML330-G2 with Tualatin 1.266 GHz and with Tualatin 1.4 GHz processors. Added support for the ProLiant ML530-G2 with 2.0 Ghz processors. Added Inspect ID support for NC7770 PCI-X Gigabit Server Adapter Added Inspect ID support for Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition II Added support for the Battery Back Cache on 5x controllers. Added support for 5x controllers to show the firmware numbers in inspect and device list. Version 11.01A can run from a virtual floppy through a Remote Integrated Lights Out (RiLO) console. Note: on the DL360-G2 the keyboard may get errors. These can be ignored. On pure headless systems keyboard testing was removed. Translations of new menus and prompts were done for French, German, Italian, and Latin American Spanish. Added support for AIT 100/200 GB SCSI tape drives. Added support for AIT SDX-420C SCSI tape drive. Added increased support for tape drives to be accessed from array controllers. Added more warnings to tape drive attached to 5x controllers. Tape testing is always destructive to data on the tapes there was not enough clear warnings before tape testing started. Added instructions to SCSI.tm and HBAOO.tm to remind the user to clean the heads of the tape drive before testing because many tape drive problems have to do with dirty tape heads.Reduced the size of diag.exe by removing code that was no longer in use. This was needed so that the migrated test modules could work. Removed DMA testing from CPU. This testing is implicit to being able to boot the machine. The code was becoming difficult to maintain as the different ROMs used different ports of DMA for special applications. If a channel was in use by the ROM it could cause our test to fail even though the DMA worked fine. Speaker testing was removed from CPU. This testing was not available in the migrated tm and it was decided that the speaker test was outside of the scope of what CPU.tm should be testing. Corrected an issue with diagnostics competing with option ROMs for the 640k portion of dos. Now diagnostics does not demand as much space. This change corrected problems with inspect not showing information on some devices and possible hang ups in the test portion of the code. Resolved several instances of SCSI.tm and SCSI2.tm hanging up with different configurations. Corrected system hang problem caused by Int86 0x13 on PCI bus. This call should only be issued on ISA bus. Resolved a memory leak that could cause a hang up on some configurations in cpu.tm caused by running inspect.exe and then running diag.exe. Corrected Inspect lock up with certain legacy configurations in the regional language French. A buffer was increased in size to avoid memory corruption in French language. Corrected possible hang up issue in cpu.tm with processors that have different stepping. Resolved issue where the system locks up with both a 5300 Smart Array Card and a 5312 Smart Array Card installed. This was resolved by writing some buffers to the diskette; around 30k of disk space may be needed on the diskette for the program to run correctly. Corrected problem with front end where user cannot arrow down in the log menu after 999 hours of memory testing. The buffer for the elapsed time was only 10 bytes long. The buffer size was increased to 12 to handle elapsed times in the format, 'hhhhh:mm:ss'. Corrected dot spacing so that it is the same through out Inspect. The incorrect spacing was caused while solving a memory corruption problem in this function. Removed ISA from expansion bus description in Inspect. Reduced size of inspect.exe by removing code that was no longer in use. This will allow for new code to be added to Inspect for new products. Corrected display of machine ID in inspect for several G2 systems. NOTES: The major version number was changed to reflect the new front end and the new test modules. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Pressing "Space Bar" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory folder in the download directory. The diskette image file, the image extraction tool, are unpacked into this newly created directory. Run the QRST5.exe program to create a diskette. 3. After the Diagnostic diskette has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step one, as well as the directory folder and files created in step two. 4. Go to the system that you want to run Server Diagnostics on and power down the system. 5. Place the newly created Diagnostics diskette in Drive A:, and power up the system. 6. The system should then boot to Compaq Server Diagnostics. 7. Note: that relative paths (\\dir) do not work with the image extracting program, instead absolute paths must be used (drive letter:\dir or c:\).
