The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Evo notebooks. PREREQUISITES: Compaq System Software Manager, Version 1.50 Rev A or higher, available in SoftPaq SP17447. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. The BIOS/ROM image file must be used with Remote Management Software in order to actually flash (upgrade) the ROM image on one of the affected Evo notebooks. 3. When used with SSM, copy the SoftPaq to the file store. 4. When used with WINFLASH, run the SoftPaq to get the .cab file.
