The CPQFlash utility is used to locally flash the System ROM on PCs through a Windows environment. The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and viewing File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text file by selecting File/Save to Diskette. ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: - This is the same System ROM version that was originally included on the Compaq Evo D500 and D300 models with the 815e chipset. It is not an upgrade. It is made available here as a convenience for users who may need to restore it to their computer for any reason. - Adjustments to thermal tables for processors of 1GHz or faster. - Corrects reporting of Celeron 1.2 GHz processors as Pentium III. - Corrects some issues with El Torito code for "Return Boot Catalog" support which were preventing applications from using the BIOS to obtain the catalog of boot images from the CD. HOW TO USE: 1. It is recommended to create a directory called CPQFlash and download the SoftPaq to that directory. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq number above. 2. Refer to the CPQFlash utility documentation (CPQFlash.txt) for further instructions on using the CPQFlash utility to flash the System ROM on your PC.
