TITLE:  Presario Desktops System ROM Update (686C3 ROM Family)

DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates a CPQflash executable and a ROM.cab file that can be used to
locally restore or upgrade the System ROM in the below models.  The ROM Family and ROM 
version can be determined by running the Setup Utility by pressing F10 on the target 
computer during system power on of the computer, and viewing Main/System Information.

NOTE: This SoftPaq contains the same ROM version that was in SoftPaq SP18321 & 17455.
      SP18769 just repackages it using Package for the Web. Customers who have already 
      obtained SoftPaq SP18321 or SP17455 do not need to download SP18769.

HOW TO USE:

    1. Download the SoftPaq to your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file  
       downloaded is a self-extracting executable, SP18769.exe.
    
    2. Execute SP18769.exe. NOTE: It is recommended that you close all other programs
       before executing SP18769.exe.

    3. The program will launch the Package for the Web unbundle program.  At the
       welcome screen press NEXT to continue.

    4. Please read and accept the licensing agreement to continue.  Press NEXT after
       selecting the accept agreement button.
    
    5. You are then prompted for the unbundle location.  The default location is 
       C:\Compaq\SP18769.  The Softpaq will extract an executable and a cab file to the 
       user specified directory.  Press Next to finish the process.

    6. After extraction CPQflash will launch.  Follow the prompts to complete the flash
       process.  

       WARNING:  DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER 
       DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS!!!

    7. Upon completion, the user is notified that the ROM Flash was successful.  Select
        Restart to complete the flash process.
