Both the HAL and the kernel files are located on the Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0 CD. The Compaq HAL Recovery Option is a feature that allows a user with a multiprocessor system to recover from blue-screen errors that could occur as a result of: - Mismatching hardware with the installed HAL (e.g., multiprocessor HAL with one processor only) - Problems with the Multiprocessor HAL file - Problems with the Uniprocessor HAL file ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: - Adds support for NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.0 HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2.
