This versatile application provides system administrators with an overview of power conditions and the ability to configure shutdown timing, customize alert messages, and perform UPS diagnostic checks. Compaq Power Management Software is bundled with all Compaq UPS models 700VA and greater. Enhancements/Fixes: This release contains a number of Fixes. These fixes are: - Corrected a problem with installing Netware Agents in a group configuration in which the Netware server Abends. - Corrected a Netware NCF command execution problem. - Corrected a problem in which the AIO load was being displayed on the wrong screen. - Updated the standalone Netware agent with the correct version number. - Corrected a bug with shutting down Netware servers running IPX protocol. - Enhanced agent installation process to include a manual protocol selection during installation. - Incorporated a previously released patch to correct a potential security issue in the web-enabled portion of the agent. The vulnerability can allow an attacker to either crash the web-enabled portion of the agent or alternatively execute some introduced code at the access level of the web-based management process. - This release addresses a potential security vulnerability in Compaq web-enabled software, which allows the software to act as a generic proxy server. Internal traffic going out to the Internet can bypass normal proxy server filtering using the Compaq web-enabled management software at port 2301 on the proxy server system. In addition external traffic may be able to infiltrate internal networks by using the Compaq web-enabled management software at port 2301 on a server exposed to the internet as a proxy if there is no additional firewall protection.
