DESCRIPTION:

This is the 05/07/01 system Rompaq. It is derived from the S07 ROM released on 
04/30/2001. This ROM will be uniquely identified by the ROM family and date.This 
release provides updated system ROM images for the latest maintenance releases 
of Compaq TaskSmart C-Series and W-series Appliance.

	
ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:

Support model name change for the TaskSmart C-Series Servers.


HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette. 

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.  The file 
   downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based 
   on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. Execute the downloaded file. Type "Agree" to confirm the unpacking of files.
   You will be prompted to place a formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette 
   drive to create a diskette. Follow the on-screen instructions. 

4. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-
   extracting file downloaded in step 1.

5. You now have a diskette that will be used to upgrade the system ROM.


UPGRADING THE SYSTEM ROMPAQ:


1. Make sure that boot from floppy is enabled. This step could be done in 2 ways:

   (1) Hook up a monitor and keyboard and power up the unit. Check whether boot 
       from floppy option is enabled or not by going into the setup by hitting
       F9 during the boot up process. If this is not enabled, then select system
       options and enable the diskette boot option. Escape out of the setup 
       screen and hit F10 to exit setup.

   (2) Use a web browser to access the TaskSmart W2200 Configuration Application 
       on the system to be upgraded. Open up the ROM upgrade menu under the 
       Management menu and click on "Enable the floppy boot". Then go to the 
       Shutdown menu under Management Menu. Click on "Halt the Server for Power 
       off". Then click on "Yes, Shut down the Server". When you hear the falling-tone 
       sound, power off the unit.

2. Power down the unit.

3. Insert the Diskette just created from the Softpaq file.

4. Power up the unit.

5. The ROM should be upgraded automatically, wait for about 3 minutes. 

6. Remove the Rompaq diskette and cycle power on the unit.
