If your Compaq appliance server is not on the same network, RapidLaunch takes you through a series of windows where you record the unique configuration information for your server. A summary window allows you to check for accuracy, then prompts you to save the configuration information on a single diskette. If your Compaq appliance server supports Web-based configuration and it was detected, you can click on the appliance server to launch the Web-based configuration utility. If not, you can copy the configuration information to your hard drive, and then copy the information to create additional configuration data diskettes for similar configurations. You can also email the information to users at a remote location to copy to a diskette, and then set up their system. Enhancements/Fixes: 1) Added Unit Identification functionality 2) Added Column Sorting on auto-discovery of devices 3) Added Hover-help (Tooltips) 4) Added RIB DHCP service capability 5) Added special identification of unconfigured devices. Devices that have not been setup via RapidStartup (for those devices support- ing RapidStartup) will indicate a System Name of "UNCONFIGURED". After RapidStartup has been completed the System Name will reflect the assigned name. Some older devices may required a reboot before properly indicating the assigned System Name. 6) DHCP server now detects and identifies devices that have made more than 5 requests. A query dialog is presented and the user can choose how to handle un-serviced devices. 7) Detection system now identifies CIM pages that are under password control and displays a key icon next to the locked pages. The locked pages only display when the "Show" drop-down box is set to "All Compaq devices" 8) Detection system now uses the CIM "System Name" instead of a gethostbyname call. This speeds up the process considerably where no authoritative DNS is present. The column for this information has been re-titled "System Name". 9) The separate columns in the client interface list for Search Start and Search End have been combined into 1 column. 10) The RapidLaunch DHCP server can now be started even when another DHCP server was detected on the network. This is to solve the problem of a DHCP server that has no addresses to give out. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
