Intel SpeedStep technology supports two different modes of operation. The default settings are as follows: - Performance Mode If the notebook is powered on connected to an AC source, the processor runs at the higher speed. - Battery Optimized Mode If the notebook is powered on with battery source, the processor runs at the lower speed to maximize battery operating time. It automatically changes the processor settings when changing power source (from AC to battery or battery to AC) without rebooting the notebook. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. Run the downloaded SoftPaq file via Windows Explorer and follow any on-screen instructions provided. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF THE COMPUTER DURING THE UPGRADE PROCESS!
