This softpaq provides the files needed to install and configure the modem under Windows 95/98, NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. Enhancements/Fixes: - For Windows 9x and Windows NT 4.0, provides Version 1.6.66 modem driver software for installation and upgrades. - Fixed V.90 handshake sequence Problem in the field when calling some Ascend servers with UUNET. - Fixed Win 95 HCT 9.1 APM 1.2 Test kit issue with suspend/resume on Win 95. - Improvement in connection speed on lines with random robbed bits. Previously the driver limited the downstream speed to 41.33 kbits/sec. - Improvement for lines with 0 dB and no robbed bits. The downstream speed is increased. - Fixed V.90 problem in the field with some Cisco servers which are configured for no power compensation. - Turkey and Taiwan - Changed maximum number of call attempts parameter before blacklisting from 2 to 3. Note: These enhancements are Win2000 Specific. All non OS specific enhancements above apply. - For Windows 2000, provides Version 1.6.66A modem driver software for installation and upgrades. - Maintenance Release Bundled with the 1.6.66a drivers & Win2000 support. - Fixed Invalid country bug in W2K modem drivers that are included in the W2K shrink wrap. When the modem is updated the correct default Country is set for the modem. - Added modem to Add/Remove programs - Fixed modem driver version issue which resulted in W2K reporting that the older modem drivers being replaced were newer than the updated drivers. - Fixed Win 2000 bug in the Win 2000 driver with AOL application during disconnect. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files. The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed. You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for the files, or default to the download directory. 3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1. 4. To install, run SETUP.EXE from the drive and directory path chosen in step 2. For example, use the task bar to select Start, then Run. Enter: \SETUP (i.e. C:\TEMP\SETUP) Select OK and follow on-screen instructions. 5.
