VB (Visual Basic) support lets software developers write custom applications for the Aero 2100 using Visual Basic. MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes) is useful to C++ developers so they can develop custom programs specifically for the Aero 2100. ADO (Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects) provides an interface that allows developers easy-to-use access to a variety of data sources. HOW TO USE: 1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above. 2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. Entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory folder in the download directory. All files are unpacked into this newly created directory. 3. After the directory has been created, you may delete the self-extracting file downloaded in step 1. 4. Connect your Aero 2100 to your desktop using the serial link. Ensure an active connection has been established. It is advised that the unit also be connected to AC power to ensure no interruptions occur during the installation such as low battery. 5. Select and execute the Setup.exe from the unpacked Softpaq on your hard drive. 6. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the software upgrade onto your Aero 2100. An opportunity will be given to the user during the install to select either each runtime component individually or all components at the same time. 7. After the installation to the Aero 2100 is complete, you must reset your device for the program to be active. To do this simply disconnect the unit from it's connection to the desktop and while the unit is still on, use your stylus to press the reset button locate on the backside of the Aero 2100 to the left of the agency label. 8.
