OPERATING SYSTEM:
		This software is designed to work with the HP ProLiant 
		NC10xx/67xx/77xx/150x Gigabit Ethernet NIC Driver for 
		Linux and supports the same operating system distributions. 
		Refer to the bcm5700-<version>.src.txt from your installed 
		driver for a list of the OSs.

PREREQUISITES:  Pentium-based computer
                128MB RAM minimum

         	HP ProLiant NC10XX/67XX/77XX/150X Gigabit Ethernet NIC Driver for Linux version 7.1 or newer.

SUPERSEDES:     

DESCRIPTION:    This RPM contains the utilities and binaries for upgrading
		HP ProLiant NC10xx/NC67xx/NC77xx and NC 150X Gigabit Ethernet
                NICs boot code and PXE code running under Linux.

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:

		- Added support for HP NC 150T PCI 4-Port Gigabit Combo Switch Adapter
		- Fixed bug that caused PXE corruption on NICs.

		- Add latest NC7782 Boot Code version 3.27b.

Introduction
============
This file describes the firmware upgrade of the HP Gigabit Server 
Adapters mentioned in the PRODUCTS AFFECTED section of this
document.  After installation, additional information can be 
found in the manual page for hpnicfwupg. 

User guides and additional HP Network Adapter information can be
found at:

Packaging
=========
The firmware upgrade utility is released in RPM format. The file name for
the package is hpnicfwupg-<version>.rpm.


Installing the RPM Package
=============================

1. Check for the existence of a previous version of the hpnicfwupg package 
   using the following command:
   
   	# rpm -q hpnicfwupg
   	
   	If an old version of the package exists, it should be removed using
   	the following command:
   	
   	# rpm -e hpnicfwupg
   	
2. Install the RPM package.
   
	# rpm -ivh hpnicfwupg-<version>.rpm


Performing the Firmware Upgrade
============================

1. The firmware can be upgraded interactively using the following command:

	# /usr/sbin/hpnicfwupg
	
2. Before the upgrade is attempted, a copy of the firmware image is saved.
   If the firmware upgrade fails due to an unrecoverable error, you can
   restore your original firmware interactively using the following command:
   
   	# /usr/sbin/hpnicfwupg -p


Uninstalling the RPM Package
============================

   The hpnicfwupg RPM package can be uninstalled using the following command:

	# rpm -e hpnicfwupg
