DESCRIPTION:  HP Insight Manager Agents provide server management
capabilities for VMware ESX Server installed on supported server platforms.



Enhancements/Fixes:

- Added support for ESX 2.5.4 and ESX 3.0.1
- Added support for the hp ProLiant Intel G5 servers, hp ProLiant c-class blade servers and 
  hp ProLiant AMD G2 servers 
- This version of the hp Insight Manager agents now supports 4 GB Emulex and Qlogic HBAs
- On servers having more than 4GB of physical memory, the storage agents will now prompt 
  during the agents activation to keep the CCISS device nodes open. Keeping the CCISS 
  device nodes open helps achieve better performance


Notes:

- For the Insight Manager agents to function properly with ESX 3.0.x, the firewall ports
  for the 'hpim' service (2381) and the 'snmpd' service need to be enabled. Please see the 
  README file for additional details regarding how to enable these firewall ports during 
  the Insight Manager agents installation

- On ESX versions 2.5.3 and later, the SNMP agents provided in this package will not be installed. 
  Instead, the default SNMP packages which are installed along with the ESX versions
  are used. The uninstallation of the IM agents package on ESX 2.5.3 and later does not 
  uninstall the SNMP packages 

- On ESX 2.5.2 and earlier, the SNMP packages provided with this package are 
  installed. The SNMP agents are uninstalled along with the IM agents when 
  this package is uninstalled. Please refer to the README file for removal 
  instructions of the IM agents

- Configuring multiple trap destinations during silent installation of this package is currently
  not supported. If you want to configure multiple trap destinations, edit the "snmpd.conf" file
  to add the trap destinations and restart both the 'snmpd' and 'hpasmd' services

- If the internal health LED on a server is amber, the server might shutdown or reboot as soon as 
  the hp Insight Manager agents are installed. This feature is called Automatic Server Recovery, 
  and is enabled to ensure that the server can be recovered even though there is a major hardware 
  problem. Please get the hardware error fixed if the color of the internal health LED on your 
  server is amber


For ESX Server 2.5.0:
--Please install the latest available Upgrade Patch before installing this package

--The management agents may not detect MSA1000 or MSA1500 when using version 
  6.07 of the QLogic driver packaged with ESX Server 2.5.0.  Please upgrade to
  version 2.5.1 or later


HOW TO USE:

Login as the system administrator (root), download the package to a
directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. Unpack
the contents of the package by typing:

tar -zxvf hpmgmt-7.6.0-vmware.tgz

This will create two new directories (/hpmgmt/760) under your current
directory.  Change to the new ./hpmgmt/760 directory and view the 
README file for installation instructions.
