Enhancements/Fixes: none HOW TO USE: Installation: ACU-XE is distributed using Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) packages. Use "rpm -i " to install the server. Please type "man rpm" for other details regarding RPM. The software resides in /usr/lib, /opt/compaq/cpqacuxe and the executable name is cpqacuxe which is located in /usr/sbin. Run the ACU-XE server: Make sure that you have gone through the following checklist: . Change the ACU-XE administrator password to something other than the default. - Refer to step 3 in "Run the ACU-XE client" section. . Only run ACU-XE on servers that are on a local intranet or a secure network. . Secure the management port (port 2301) on your network. . You run cpqacuxe as root. To start the server: If /usr/sbin is already added in your path, just type: "cpqacuxe" for local access only or "cpqacuxe -R" for remote access. More options can be found by "cpqacuxe --help". Run the ACU-XE client: 1. Open your browser (Netscape Navigator 4.76 on Linux or Internet Explorer 5.0 or above on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0/Windows 2000. If remote access is enabled: 2a. Type "http://SERVERNAME:2301" into the url field. The servername should be the IP address or server name of the host on which the ACU-XE server is running. If remote access is disabled: 2b. Type "http://127.0.0.1:2301" into the url field on the machine on which the ACU-XE server is running. 3. On the Device Home Page that opens in the browser, click the anonymous link near the top of the screen. You should now see a login screen. 4. Enter your username and password. For first-time use, these will both be administrator. Change the password to something else if you have not done that. NOTE: You can change the username or password by clicking the appropriate link on this screen. The choice of username is limited to user, guest, or administrator. When you have successfully logged in, you should see the Device Home Page again. 5. Click the ACU-XE button near the bottom of the screen. Exiting ACU-XE: 1.
