EFS or Extended Feature Supplement 7.72a for SCO UnixWare 7 & OpenServer 6 is a collection of device drivers that provides maximum performance on ProLiant hardware. It also includes several utilities to monitor and increase the performance of your ProLiant server. Refer to SCO OS support matrix and option matrix at http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/sco/index-all.html and http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/sco/options-matrix-all.html respectively for more detailed information on hardware support for SCO. New Features in EFS Version 7.72a - Support added for hp ProLiant ML350 G5 - Support added for hp ProLiant ML370 G5 - Support added for hp ProLiant ML570 G4 - Support added for hp ProLiant DL380 G5 - Support added for hp ProLiant DL580 G4 - Support added for HP Smart Array E200 Controller - Support added for HP Smart Array E200i Controller - Support added for HP Smart Array P400 Controller - Support added for HP NC340T PCI-X Quad-port Gigabit Server Adapter - Support added for HP NC150T PCI 4-port Gigabit Combo Switch Adapter - Support added for Modular Smart Array 20 - Support added for next generation Intel Processors - New Embedded Health Management Driver HOW TO USE: 1. Download the tarball file "EFS-7.72a-uw7_osr6.tar.Z" to /tmp on a SCO Unix system. The "sum -r" value of this file should be 13314. 2. Change directory to /tmp i.e. "cd /tmp". 3. Uncompress the file executing "uncompress EFS-7.72a-uw7_osr6.tar.Z". 4. Execute "tar -xvf EFS-7.72a-uw7_osr6.tar" and untar the file EFS-7.72a-uw7_osr6.tar. This will create a directory "EFS-7.72a" with the following: a. EFS - directory containing cpqefs.pkg, doc, hba and set_efs images b. create_disks - script to create EFS diskette set (hba, set_efs and doc diskettes) c. license.txt - file containing End User License Agreement d. readme.txt - file containing information on EFS tarball distribution and steps to install and remove EFS e. release_notes.txt - file containing information on supported OS versions, HP ProLiant servers and changes from previous EFS release 5. Execute the following to create EFS diskette set (HBA, set_efs and doc) and follow the prompts. (You need five (5) 3.5" 1.44MB floppy diskettes.) cd ./EFS-7.72a sh create_disks -------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: If you have downloaded and extracted the tarball contents on a windows box, you may use the rawrite.exe file to create HBA and EFS diskettes. You may download tls096.zip from SCO website at ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/TLS/tls096.zip. Refer to RAWRITE.DOC file present in tls096.zip for license agreement and usage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can verify that you have valid EFS 7.72a diskettes by using the UNIX "sum -r" command: sum -r /dev/fd0 The following sum values should be displayed: cpqefs.pkg - 23808 HBA - 41718 set_efs1 - 48977 set_efs2 - 64550 set_efs3 - 42754 Documentation diskette is not a UNIX diskette. Therefore it does not need sum value. 1. To install the EFS, login as root on SCO Unix system. 2. Execute "pkgadd -d /tmp/EFS-7.72a/EFS/cpqefs.pkg" and respond to the menu displayed to select the packages you want to install. 3. If you are using set_efs diskettes to install the EFS, insert floppy diskette with set_efs1 image into the floppy disk drive; execute "pkgadd -d diskette1" and follow the prompts.
