[SunHELP] StorageTek 2500 question

Hello, anyone still around?
 
I've got a StorageTek 2530 (SAS RAID version),
which seems to
be useless without Common Array Manager, and I'm pretty sure
I
can't afford a support contract to download that.
 
If I swap-in an
XTA-2501-IOM from a 2501 expander, can I use
the array as a JBOD, or does the
2501 need to be connected to
another array with a properly configured
controller? My HBA is
a 375-3609, if that makes a difference.
