Just to report back on this ... I finally got around to trying it
yesterday and it is killing my ZFS appliance. Not sure whether this
is related to the non-sun disk or not because it is the first time I
am replacing a disk, but the manual says it should be able to resilver
with minimal end user impact. I'm getting some pretty long stretches
of next to no response from my filesystems and it is just killing my
cluster. The manual also says it is safe to cancel the operation but
I get error messages when I try to do that.
Not impressed with Sun at this point and this will probably be my last
Sun purchase ...
