Oh, wait a minute.  It does work, but there is the following warning 
message:

[00000193] arts audio output error: arts_init failed (loading the aRts 
backend " /opt/csw/lib/libartscbackend.la" failed)

Am I the only one who is trying this?  Or does it just work for everyone 
else?
