One other suggestion if you are running Gnome or CDE, you might try 
XFCE. I installed Sol10 on my U2 and was very disappointed with the 
performance of Sol10 and Gnome. I am much happier with XFCE. (Yes, I 
also have to learn how to tune Sol10 some.)
