Hi All,
I've been struggling with a driver issue for the past three days - so now
I'm hoping someone can help.
I have two qla2342 HBA's in a V490 and have been instructed to use qlogic
drivers as EMC storage will be attached.
Using pkgadd for the drivers is simple and apparently successful, but the
device driver utility says it cannot find the driver in the path_to_inst
file. So assuming the fcode needed updating, I downloaded
2300fcode2.00.09.tar from the Qlogic web site and attempted to flash the
card.
./qla2x00flash -l /devices/pci at 8,600000/SUNW,qlc at 1/fp at 0,0:devctl
ifp2300.prom
But get the following output:
Device IOCTL error: Inappropriate ioctl for device
I have all the SAN patches loaded.
I patchrm'd the SAN patches and tried again, but the devices weren't found.
Re-installed SAN, but still can't flash the card.
luxadm -e port - gives me the following output:
Found path to 5 HBA ports
/devices/pci at 8,600000/SUNW,qlc at 1/fp at 0,0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
/devices/pci at 8,600000/SUNW,qlc at 1,1/fp at 0,0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
/devices/pci at 8,600000/SUNW,qlc at 2/fp at 0,0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
/devices/pci at 8,600000/SUNW,qlc at 2,1/fp at 0,0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
/devices/pci at 9,600000/SUNW,qlc at 2/fp at 0,0:devctl CONNECTED
>From my understanding and according to the qlogic documentation, the device
path should be QLGC, qla - which it clearly isn't.
Anyone got any ideas; I'd really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Monz
