Not that we've been able to findout. I think it has more to do with
whatever they did when they built the new offices than anything else.
We've found a few places were they ran cat3 cables (phone closet to
computer room because that's what the spec said 8 years ago when they
started planning the construction) that something a little more current
(say cat5 or even cat6) would have been better. And of course management
won't let us run cables now because we just got this new building and they
don't want us hacking it up and running cables all over the place. Every
freaken conduit they put in was already jammed full of cables when we
moved in. We have wierd cellphone deadzones in here that are kind of
scary. I can't use my cellphone at my desk but it works fine in the
computer room (more computers and deeper in the building.)
