In /.profile

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/perl/perl-5.6.6/bin
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Side note: Thats a wierd place for perl to land from *-local @ 
sunfreeware.com
