[SunHELP] chown problems

I would like some help with the following problem.  I can make the
requested changes when I am root of course.



zeus% id

uid=222(doetest) gid=202(doegrp)



zeus% ls -al

total 6

drwxrwxr-x   2 1863     doedev       512 Jun 23 14:08 .

drwxrwxr-x  14 doetest  doegrp       512 Oct 29  2004 ..

-rw-rw-r--   1 doetest  doegrp         0 Jun 23 14:08 test1

-rw-rw-r--   1 doetest  doegrp        35 Jun 23 14:08 testing.txt





zeus% chown wwwsrvr:web test*

chown: test1: Not owner

chown: testing.txt: Not owner

Command I gave is chown -R wwwsrvr:web *

I checked a couple of subdirectories and they have the requested user
and group.



If there is still a problem please let me know.

Please change the owner of all the files in
/home2/doetest/public_html/edfacil recursively to wwwsrvr  web.



When I try to execute this command

chown wwwsrvr:web *



it gives me errors saying I am not the owner of the files owned by
doetest.  I am logged in as doetest so I am not sure what the issue is.



I am meeting someone at 11:00 so have to run.  If you cannot do this
before you go at 11:15, we can talk when you get back at 2:00.
