the man pages say "it's a good idea" to be in single user mode
and/or unmount the fs. It will do with mounted fs though ...
I do that all the time with slices that have fs that are static.

In fact, if you use the -v (verify) option the fs MUST be unmounted...

no, /dev/rdsk/xxx is the raw device, you do not need to mount the fs tu
ufsdump it.
Umounted is even better since noone will do any changes to the files.

"/dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s0", is it requird to hav the FS mounted before I can
start the backup.
