[SunHELP] Performance Issues

The message actually meant for the original poster (Vinod). Checking
the disks subsystem performance while the backup is running, might
also helps.  I have experienced a backup performance problem before,
and it took us some time before we realize that it was caused by slow
disks/filesystem.
