hi again people!!!

thanx for your patience  :D I've just installed some packages from 
sunfreeware.com that get installed in /usr/local (structure created by 
install script)... I appended /usr/local/bin to PATH and /usr/local/lib to 
LD_LIBRARY_PATH, but when I logout and relogin, the gnome wallpaper and 
taskbar icons dissapear!!! where should I add the new lib&bin paths to the 
system?

PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/usr/local/lib
export PATH
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

I did it in /etc/profile
