They are both volume managers. It is possible to use both in a server, the
question is why?
As a best practice, I've seen implementations of using disksuite to software
mirror system disks while VM is used to virtualize disk arrays attached to
the same server. 
The diff between, SPARC and intel is obviously the same software running on
different platforms and architectures.

What are the differences between Solstice disk suite &
veritas volume manager?  Is it possible to use both softwares in a solaris
server?

Also, volume manager for Solaris sparc edition is different from Solaris
intel edition?
