An alternative is to boot to single-user from Software CD 1 (Not the
Install CD), newfs the slice which was the root filesystem, mount it as
/a or /mnt then restore onto it. Shouldn't have to format/label the disk
(unless it's a replacement disk which may need partitioning depending on
the original). Have done it a few times (using ufsrestore) no problem.
