I am using the Network Monitor Big Sister (http://bigsister.sf.net)
here. Possibly it is a bit overdone for you, but it provides
most of your needs. It comes with a lot of modules and is easily
scriptable. Also it has a sophisticated alarming system to mail or
page you on errors.
