[SunHELP] problems compiling gcc on solaris8

Is there any way to obtain a copy of a Compiler for manual installation as
opposed to having the gcc-3.4.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz install locally because
it doesn't appear to be installing.

Which compiler do you want to use to build gcc 3.4.2? Did you set
$CC? Taking a closer look at config.log might help.
