Hi Guys,
Just thought someone might know, im trying to jumpstart a V480. Which so far
has been a barrel of laughs. Issues so far nclude the stupid task of cutting
a chunk out of a netra serial dongle so that it fits into the serial port
without the casing getting in the way just to get a serial connection. Well
that took a few hours... I never realised the plastic on those things was so
tough, especially when all your tools have been swiped by the 3rd line tech
team *grumble grumble*... now on to the next problem. The damn thing wont
boot.
This is the output
{2} ok boot net - install
Boot device: /pci at 9,700000/network at 2 File and args: - install
100 Mbps FDX Link up
Timeout waiting for ARP/RARP packet
2aa00 100 Mbps FDX Link up
boot: cannot open kernel/sparcv9/unix
Enter filename [kernel/sparcv9/unix]:
Great fun. This also occurs when trying to boot from the cdrom, when booting
the 5.8 solaris cd. As a result, im trying to pacify myself by flicking
elastic bands at the aforementioned 3rd line team, but to no avail. They
found my ammo stash, the sneaky devils they are! So I'd turn to you guys.
Here's the output from printenv

As you can see, I've changed the boot device, in the vain hopes that the
damn thing was ignoring me and booting the local HDD anyway.
Plus I've checked the arp tables on the jumpstart table and they look fine.
Ideas
Cheers in advance
Mat
