Actually, you can use vxresize to do this without downtime, but there is a
risk to get an unbootable rootdisk in case of a crash during steps 5-6.
That's why you should keep a safe boot disk without VxVM rootability in such
case (See step 2).
The procedure looks like this :

1.	Initialize the two 72 Gb disks ;add them to rootdg
2.	Break the first 18 gb mirror ; Make it bootable without VxVM
rootability to keep a safe boot disk in case of crash during steps 5-6 (See
crash recovery techniques in Vxvm docs for this procedure : modify system,
vfstab, touch install-db, etc.)
3.	Mirror to the first 72 Gb disk (vxrootmir + vxmirror)
4.	Break the second 18 Gb mirror
5.	Extend root FS (vxresize) on the 72 Gb disk : At this point this
disk is unbootable as the root volume is not contiguous
6.	Mirror to the second 72 Gb mirror (vxrootmir + vxmirror) : This disk
is unencapsulated, contiguous and bootable with VxVM rootability.
7.	Create partitions for swap/var/opt, etc. to the second 72 gb disk as
needed (see Howard/Trantham paper
http://www.sun.com/blueprints/0800/vxvmref.pdf
<http://www.sun.com/blueprints/0800/vxvmref.pdf> )
8.	Break the first 72 Gb mirror
9.	Remirror to the first 72 Gb disk (vxrootmir + vxmirror)
10.	Create partitions for swap/var/opt, etc. to the first 72 gb disk as
needed (see Howard/Trantham paper).
11.	You have now two mirrors that are unencapsulated, contiguous and
bootable with VxVM rootability.
