You can ufsdump/restore between partitions and use stdin/stdout.
example# ufsdump 0f - /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s7 | (cd /home;ufsrestore xf -)
I've done this many times; works fine. As long as you "installboot" on
the / partition (if you're moving that) it works great. Be sure to
modify /etc/vfstab after you move the data!
