Problem solved, thanks a bunch.

The 'Axis NPS 550 RISC' never did work.  We found did find a pair of Axis
560 and after several false starts* managed to get one working.

I did install an LPR queue and it works as advertised on W2K - simply
pointing the application to the queue on the server works, of course.  I'm
not sure if there is a benefit to using LPR vs. 'the other way' ... the
print jobs are small and quick (info from a database, printed on labels) ..
have to play around with it and see.

I'm sure the Axis 550 does work, but using the 560 works as well and gets
training underway.  I'll save them and pull them out at a later time.
