Hey Everybody:

I am backing up some stuff over nfs to a cybernetics 8960 tape drive on an
Ultra 30 running Solaris 8. I raised my buffer size to 65536. The minute
I try to write to the tape on the cpio I get the following error in my
messages file.

Jan 29 12:06:03 Error for Command: write Error Level: Fatal
Jan 29 12:06:03 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Requested Block: 1
                    Error Block: 1
Jan 29 12:06:03 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Vendor: EXABYTE
                    Serial Number: 8E002103
Jan 29 12:06:03 xxx scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Sense Key: Illegal Request
Jan 29 12:06:03 newdax scsi: [ID 107833 kern.notice] ASC: 0x24 (invalid
field
in cdb), ASCQ: 0x0, FRU: 0x0

I have tried it with /dev/rmt/0 and /dev/rmt/0c I am thinking my bufsize
might be too big and I should back it down to 16384. Has anyone seen this
before? Thanks.

Bret
