Sorry about the much belated response, but I work
part-time and school started Monday. The hd in
question was in slave mode which was the problem.
Thanks to all that suggested that. I should have
thought of it myself, as the hd was used first in a pc
for a tech demo at a conference recently. And if
you're curious, hardware was a SunBlade 100.
