[SunHELP] Adding disk to A1000 array

Thanks to Peter Stokes, Hichael Morton and Mr. Robertson for the helpful
responses.
However, the problem seems to have shifted to raid manager.
I have several empty slots in the A1000, some of them show up as "failed"
and other as "unresponsive". Just one disk in slot [2,5] is recognized and
I've been able to "revive" it. But the rest of disks appear to RM to be
defective, although they all are operative.

Even with the disk ([2,5]) that "seems" to be ok, I can't create a new LUN.
Using rm6 or raidutil, I get the same error:

Sense Key: 05
ASC: 94
ASCQ: 01
Unable to determine available capacity for drive group.

raidutil failed!
no disks found!

The error seems to be that RM can't obtain the size of the disk, although
using rm6 it appears correctly (9.0GB) or 8637 MB.
Checkiing the help option, it seems that the error really means "No LUN
ownership". However there's not such a LUN (LUN 6 I'm trying to create).

The configuration is as follow:

Solaris 2.8
Sun Cluster 2.2
RM 6.22
2 A1000
2 E220, each one attached to both A1000s
18 GB disks (the new ones are 9.0GB, but I think it should matter)


Any ideas of what to try?

Hi all,
I need to add a couple of disks to an A1000. Those disks were in use by a
windows machine before (don't ask), so their internal structure is a mess.

Volume manager sees the disks, but can't add them. I cannot format them
since Solaris is not seeing them.
Any ideas?

I have tried vxdiskadm (offline them and then online), they appear in error,
fmthard doesn't see the disks, vxdiskadd fails, vxdisksetup fails as well...
