According to sun, it was a disk failure, they sent us
a new disk which was used as a pc's hd during a
convention then wiped clean and put into the sun
blade.

Every file action on the local fs is fine. Even nfs
access is fine sometimes. However, every once in awhil
e it will take much longer than normal and/or result
in an error regarding trouble talking to nfs server
(sorry i dont remember the exact message).
