[SunHELP] Database Direct IO

add is a great document regardless if you are actually migrating Oracle to
Solaris or not).  

Section 2.4.5 states "Solaris 8 Database Direct I/O-A new implementation of
Direct I/O which eliminates single writer lock will be available in Solaris
8 update 3".  

Does update 3 mean Maintenance update 3 that was release 01/01??  If so, I'd
imagine that this functionality was part of an 10/01 OS install....
