I'll have my Lightwave Communications (now owned by Lantronix)
ConsoleServer 800 up for sale/trade in the next week or so after its
replacement arrives.

My in-depth product review of it from early 2002, with pictures:

I've used it for the past two and a half years to remotely manage
six Sun machines and a Cisco switch, without a problem. It's been
a lifesaver on multiple occasions, keeping me from having to drive
20 miles one-way to reboot a machine.

I no longer have the rack-mount ears, but a pair could be easily fabricated.
This unit has the optional modem installed as well, for remote dialup
console access, but I never used it. I'll throw in a ton of cables and
connectors (DB25, DE9, and in-line RJ45 adapters for Cisco/Sun RJ45 console
ports) that I got with the unit.

I've got all the software (upgrades) and manual for the unit online:

List price for this in late 2001/early 2002 was around $2500, with the
optional modem card running another $395.

I'll consider trades for a fairly recent decently-equipped x86 system
(either a nice desktop, or an IBM/Compaq/Dell rackmount server), a Mac
laptop (G3 or G4), something nifty you might have around, or will sell
outright - make an offer.

Other than Macs, I've got plenty of UNIX boxes around (SGI, Sun, etc)
and am not interested in trading for more UNIX workstations.

Bill
