[SunHELP] can't kill a job

I did do a "kill 9193", "kill -9 9193", "pkill mt", "pkill -9 mt". I used
-15 as well...
Even if I stick a tape in there, it does nothing. If try to do a status or
rewind, I get "device busy".
I've already alerted our users to a 5pm reboot, but am trying to avoid that.
It's my own stupid fault that got me here... Started to erase a used tape
and needed the drive to restore some files. I "ctrl-C" the erase. I
somehow managed to get the tape drive to let go of the tape. I inserted
the other tape (write protected, thank goodness). And am now not able to
do anything with the tape drive.
I'm not even logged onto the machine at the console anymore...
It's an external unit, I've even shut it off.
Here's the ps -l...
$ ps -le | grep 9193
8 S 0 9193 1 0 57 20 ? 113 ? ? 0:00 mt
