[SunHELP] nis problem in solaris 9

We just got a new Sun Fire 880 and are having problems
gettin nis to work. I think I've got most of it taken
care of, but when trying to su to an account as root,
i get the following error:


# su timjmill
Sep  4 17:18:26 zulu su[773]: passwdutil.so: can't get
master for passwd map
su: No shell
# 

I've done "ypmatch timjmill passwd" and there was an
entry for user timjmill. 
In /etc/passwd , the last line is "+::::::" and in
/etc/shadow , the last line is "+::::::::/bin/tcsh"
and that is a valid shell.
Any ideas?
