[SunHELP] gethostbyname timeout ???

Hello SUN gods,

Is there such thing as a gethostbyname timeout ?  If there is I would like
to turn it down (decrease the amount of time it takes to timeout).  I have
read the man page for gethostbyname, but it appears that it was written
more for a developer of which I am not.   :)

Can anyone help ?  I am running Solaris 8 on a SUN E450R.
