[SunHELP] Exceed/CDE & .profile

does anyone know how to check if a user is logging into the box
from EXCEED?  I have a custom script for the developers which 
has to sourced as it contains many environment variables and a 
few functions.  If I source this from their .profile and they 
log in from EXCEED, then EXCEED will exit.  I figure I can check
there method of login I can code accordingly, but I still haven't
come to an understanding as to why EXCEED doesn't like the exports
and function definitions.
