Hi,
I have two problems that I think are related somehow. I am running Solaris 8 on
a E250.
I am trying to install the latest OpenSSH from sunfreeware, but am having
problems getting GCC to work with the 'configure' script.
I have installed GCC 3.2 into the default directory /usr/local/bin. I then did
the following:

PATH=$PATH: /usr/local/bin:/usr/ccs/bin

export PATH

to check:

echo $PATH

I see /usr/local/bin and /usr/ccs/bin have been added correctly.

At this point my first problem is, if I logout and back in again, the added
'/usr/local/bin has disapeared...why is that?
How can I make sure my PATH modifications are permanent.

continuing with the install of Open SSH........
So I switch to the OpenSSH directiory, and run ./configure. At this point I rcv
the following error:

#checking for gcc...gcc
checking for C compiler default output
  configure:error:C compiler cannot create executables

I have had a scout around the GCC website and cannot find anything that helps
me...
Has anyone any tips? thanks ..!

Best regards
Simon
