It'll work fine in a PC, provided you can get drivers for your OS :) 
Linux, fer example, won't be a problem as the HME drivers are supported 
on any arch with a PCI bus.

The same goes for putting any ol' PCI ethernet board in a Sun running 
Solaris - it'll work fine if you can get drivers.
