[SunHELP] Xterms, wp and Accented Characters

I'm running Solaris 8. I'm using exceed to bring up xterms.

When i bring up wordperfect 5.1(the non x based version) in an xterm the
accented characters are not displayed. e is displayed instead of  (e with an
accent acute). Yet the reveal codes shows [e:1,47] and the e's print
correctly.

anyone have any tips?
